It all starts with  a car crash, a clock and a château

Life has a way of steering you exactly where you need to be, even when the route is unexpected. For Kathryn, it took a catastrophic car accident to change her trajectory. The extent of her injuries made it impossible to return to her high-powered corporate career.  But the accident gave Kathryn a reason to live creatively and follow what had always called to her.

She'd always been drawn to antiques, growing up hunting for treasures at jumble sales with her mum. In her twenties, she ran an antique stand with her sister. But life got busy with jobs and babies, and antiques became something she did on the side. Until the crash brought her back. Kathryn founded C’est Tout Interiors in 2019 and, a year later, settled into a characterful converted barn in a quintessential Gloucestershire village.

It was at a market that she spotted a Swedish Mora clock on a dealer's stand. Kathryn fell in love with the clock. She fell in love with the dealer too and together the pair embarked on a life of finding and restoring beautiful things. They renovated a cottage and turned it into a holiday let, filling it with antiques and curiosities. And of course, the Mora clock took pride of place.

Then one day Kathryn spotted a crumbling château online. A rambling 14th-century house buried deep in the French countryside wasn’t on the agenda, but as soon as she stepped over the threshold, Kathryn knew it was her little piece of France.

Steve and Kathryn bought it and set to work restoring it and filming the process to share with ageing parents back in the UK. Now thousands of people on YouTube watch Kathryn’s glimpses of French life, the patient work of restoration, and her laid-back approach to creating layered, lived-in interiors. The restoration journey will be showcased on Château DIY, airing worldwide on Channel 4 from March 2026.

The space is constantly evolving as new treasures arrive. There's far more here than we could ever list online due to their fragile nature. Plus, many pieces are simply waiting for the right person to walk through the door. It's always worth popping in to have a look.

Come, soak in the atmosphere and explore all our treasure-filled nooks. (We’ll have the coffee machine on).
